Twenty Years Later 🖤

A Time Capsule Arrives

Today I’m celebrating my 32nd birthday, and fate delivered me a little time capsule—my 7th grade “Me Folder.”
Inside was a piece about where I saw myself in twenty years which, by cosmic coincidence, happens to be this year.

What Didn’t Happen

Well… I am not an actress (and never went to that fabled summer camp), and I’m not a published author yet—though I’m climbing the ladder toward that dream.

But I did get my greatest wish: two little girls who light up my world. (Lucky for them, I didn’t go with the names I thought were so cool back then—Foxy and Roxy if they’d been twins. 😂)

What Did

Some dreams did come true.
I’ve walked the streets of England, France, and Salem like my younger self imagined.
I even got my fair share of acting in during high school, so she wouldn’t be too disappointed there.

And while 12-year-old me swore I’d be living in San Francisco (thanks, Charmed), the furthest I actually got from Springport was Traverse City… which, let’s be real, is nothing like San Francisco.

Predictions That Went Sideways

As for the rest? Jessie never picked up a director’s chair, and Lexi—now Demi—set their sights on marine biology, forensics, and fashion design instead of modeling.
So, I may have been a little off the mark with my predictions.

Looking Back with Grace

But 12-year-old Nicki wasn’t a psychic like Phoebe Halliwell. She didn’t know what the future really held.

And still—she did a hell of a lot in her twenty years. 🖤
